There’s nothing like a good hair day to put a spring in a girl’s step. Today is the first time since I cut my hair last weekend that I feel really good about the way it looks. I’ve been snipping little bits off here and there for past several days, and I think I may finally have gotten it just right. It’s also taking me a little while to get the knack for styling short hair back. When it’s long I don’t really have to style it, so this cut is a bit more labor-intensive than what I had previously.
It’s another t-shirt-and-shorts-type day here, and I’ve been doing as much laundry as I can to get it hanged out on the line to dry in the warm air. Laundry has become a bit of a nightmare around here lately, as our washer’s spin cycle isn’t working as well as it could and the clothes come out sopping wet. Olof keeps vowing to put in a call to the repairman, but he’s such a procrastinator and I’m not confident enough in my Swedish abilities to make that kind of call. I think one of the best things about being fully fluent, if it ever happens, would be that I could make all these niggling little phone calls myself without having to nag Olof into submission all the time.
We have Olof’s mom’s birthday party this afternoon at four o’clock, and we had been going to take the dogs for a walk before that, but it’s getting late enough now that I don’t think it will be happening, especially since Tage just fell asleep and I don’t want to disturb his nap. I guess it will have to wait until after the
party, if we don’t get home too late.
