Summertime Revisited

I know that I keep repeating myself, but I just cannot get over this weather! It’s so beautiful and warm out, almost like a second summer after all that rain and chilliness we had. I left for class this morning wearing a sweatshirt and jeans, and when I came home an hour ago I changed into shorts and a t-shirt first thing because I was roasting! I’m trying to enjoy this to the fullest (and keep good record of it, too), so that I can pull out the memory to comfort myself during the long, cold winter that looms ahead.

Today was my first day in the higher-level Swedish class, and so far it seems like a much better fit. I went after class to buy the books we need, but the bookstore is open only from 11-1, Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday, which doesn’t coincide with my schedule at all. I was a bit annoyed by that, but there’s nothing to be done about it, so I guess I’ll be making a special trip to town later this week just to go by the bookstore.

I had thought Tage was feeling better yesterday since he didn’t seem to be coughing so much, but as it turned out, I was quite mistaken. Last night he was asleep in my lap when suddenly and without warning, a geyser of puke erupted out of him and all over both of us. I cleaned up the mess, and Lydia sat and held Tage while I brushed my teeth and got ready for bed, during which time he threw up all over Lydia. She was extremely grossed out, but to her credit, she held on to him and waited for me come get everything sorted out.

In an apparently unrelated series of events, Asbjørn then threw up three or four times (once on our bed, which meant that we had to change our bedding before we could go to bed). Tage continued to puke for the next fifteen minutes or so, and never would settle down, so Olof ended up being up with him all night.

A good time was had by all.
