My citizenship application is signed, sealed, and on its way to be delivered to Migrationsverket, the Swedish immigration authority. Some changes were made to the application process beginning April 1 of this year, and since then the wait for a decision has been less than a month (rather than as much as 18 months, as it used to be). Migrationsverket’s website does warn that it may take a bit longer for applications to be processed during the summer (Sweden as a whole slows waaaaayyyy down during the summer months), but even allowing for that delay, I expect that Lydia and I will be citizens of this fine country within six weeks or so. That will leave Olof as the only member of our little family who isn’t a dual citizen. I may have to gloat a bit about that from time to time.
