Calm …

I had a rare half-hour of peace and quiet this morning after Lydia left for school and before Olof and Tage woke up, and it was very relaxing. I took a shower then sat for a bit with a cup of tea and read my email. It’s not often I get to do either of those things all on my own without feeling rushed or harried, so it’s been a nice morning so far.

While we’re on the subject of nice mornings, I was happy to see clear skies and sunshine this morning, after all the wind and rain of yesterday. Lydia’s school (and perhaps all the schools in Sweden, I don’t know) is doing a sort of “walk-a-thon/jog-a-thon” this morning to raise money for BRIS, and the note she came home with last week said that they would be out regardless of the weather. It was so terrible out yesterday and I was afraid it would carry over to today. Luckily, aside from being cold, it’s a beautiful day outside.

Last night Olof and I had our first grown-up evening out in I don’t know how long (since before the baby was born, at any rate). We left the kids and dogs with his parents and met up in town with a guy I know from the Amerikanska website. We’ve both been on the site for a few years, but we’d never met in person before yesterday, and it’s always fun to meet someone you’ve interacted with online for a long time. We had a good dinner at a Greek restaurant and sat and chatted for a couple of hours before we had to rush home to reclaim our motley crew. It was a nice evening, and it was great to be able to eat and have an adult conversation without having to try to tend the kids at the same time. We should do that more often.

  1. Hi Bev!
Cool that you have a blog too 🙂
I have a question: How do you add links? I didn’t find where I could do that. Either I’m blind or it’s really complicated LOL

  2. Well, it can’t be very complicated, if *I* figured it out! I’m not very computer literate!

Anyway, go into “manage weblog,” then choose “templates” from the menu on the right. Then choose “main index” on the next page, and you’ll go to the source code for your page. Then you just have to read through until you find the “Links” part and add your links. 🙂
