Ah, an almost-relaxing day at home … I did have to get up at 7:30 to get Lydia ready for school and out the door (which can be quite unrelaxing, frankly), but as for the rest of us, we don’t have to be anywhere but home today. Olof and I do have to go to a parents’ meeting at Lydia’s school tonight, but that’s so many hours away that it hardly bears thinking about right now.
It’s nice to be home all day. This is the only day this week that I don’t have to go to town, and that’s a relief. Tomorrow we have to take the dogs to the vet to get their toenails trimmed, which should be an adventure. We’ve tried time and again to do it ourselves, but Mette’s so sketchy and freaks out at the least little thing, so it’s just impossible. I think we could probably do Asbjørn’s on our own, but Mette usually gets him all stirred up and then we can’t handle him. They’re both unbelievably strong, considering that they’re not that big, as far as big dogs go. Anyway, we finally gave up and made a call to the vet, who said she’ll sedate them if need be (and I think need might just be, at least where Mette’s concerned).
Lydia and I started our marble magnets project last night and so far it’s going well. We’ve made up eight or ten, and they look pretty good. I need to perfect my technique a bit, but in the main I’m pleased with the results. The marbles aren’t a uniform size and some of them are too small for the 3/4″ magnets I have, so I’m going to pick up some smaller magnets at the craft store tomorrow afternoon when we’re in town.
