Olof’s flight from Madrid last night was delayed by about fifteen minutes, which was just long enough for him to miss his flight home from Stockholm, so after spending all day yesterday waiting, and literally marking each hour as it passed, I’m waiting again this morning. The good news is that he’s parked outside the departure gate at Arlanda even as I type this, so there’s no chance of him missing his flight today. It’s scheduled to leave in about forty-five minutes, so he’ll be home in a little more than two hours, which is not a moment too soon. Lydia slept over at her cousin’s house last night, as much in an attempt to distract herself from the anticipation of her dad’s return as anything else, I think, and she was mightily disappointed when she came home a few minutes ago (much, much earlier than she ever returns from a sleepover) to find that he wasn’t here. Ah well, I think we can manage to keep ourselves busy enough for the next couple of hours that we’re not just sitting around watching the clock.
I think I might take the kids out for a walk, if I can convince myself that it’s worth it to go out in the damp and dreary cold. To take a look around outside, you’d hardly believe it was late April. It was actually snowing for a bit yesterday afternoon. It wasn’t much and none of it stuck, but it was actual snow nonetheless. I had been hoping that all the accumulated snow would be gone by the time Olof came home, but it was not to be. I’m holding out now for it to be gone by May 1, and there’s still hope for that. I suppose one good thing about getting some rain would be that it would get rid of some of this snow.
I’m here to share the love on Blogger Love-In Day. I love reading your blog – even though we live miles and countries apart we seem to share the same life. Hope your hubby is home now and you’re too busy to blog…LOL!
