I’ve had a fairly productive day today. On the internet front, I finished up my editing work for the upcoming issue of Mosaic Minds and updated the kids’ pages (Lydia and Tage) so that they’re finally current — the last two pages of Lydia’s pictures and the last four of Tage’s are new. I also went to the midwife for my first Pap smear in over three years. That went well, although I was a bit nonplussed when she waxed almost poetic about my nether regions (“Åh, det ser så fint ut!). After that, Olof, the kids, and I drove to town where we shopped for a birthday present for Lydia to take to a party next week, and I went to my Weight Watchers meeting (down .6 kg from last week — yay, me!). After that we came home and I made a tasty dinner, washed the dishes, then finally got a chance to sit and relax a bit. Oh yeah, I gave myself a haircut, too (if hacking at my hair with kitchen scissors for five or ten minutes qualifies as a “haircut”).
On a completely unrelated note, I was watching a rerun of Jay Leno this morning and Meg Ryan was a guest. Her lips are so collagen-injected, or whatever the hell it is, that her puffy top lip barely moves when she talks or smiles. It was very distracting and even a little creepy. I just can’t bring myself to like her anyway, after she threw over Dennis Quaid for Russell Crowe — what on earth was she thinking?! Stupid woman.
Tomorrow I’m going to town by myself (I managed to talk Olof into keeping Tage, even though it will be the middle of the afternoon!) to have fika with Helena and Debbie. I am so looking forward to the chance to get out and spend some time with my friends without having to worry about who’s going where and who’s getting into something he shouldn’t be and all the mommy stuff. Plus, I hear there’s cheesecake and cinnabons in the offing. Can’t beat that with a stick.
I also find Meg Ryan’s lips to be distracting and disturbing. It’s sad, really. I don’t think I’ll watch another movie with her – just can’t watch her mouth move. And she used to be one of my favourite actresses.
Melanie Griffith has also gone the collagen way. Do they have any idea how ridiculous it makes them look? Too much money and too much vanity. I’m happy with my thin-lipped self.
Yeah, I don’t get it at all. How can they look in the mirror and think that it’s an improvement?!
I used to really like Meg Ryan, too, but she’s gotten a bit weird in the last few years.
All parties involved say that marriage was OVAH before Mr Crowe came around.
But hey, I would have kicked Dennis out for Crowe too!
