Lookie here, two posts in one day!

So, I started feeling contractions this morning about 7 am when I got the kids up for school, and they kept getting stronger all day long.ย  We went to the hospital in the afternoon, arriving around 2:30 pm, and our baby GIRL made her appearance at 6:15 in the evening!ย  ๐Ÿ˜€

They haven’t gotten around to weighing her yet, and we don’t have any pictures since we’re stuck at the hospital until tomorrow morning, but her name is Brynja Astrid Eivor and she’s cute as can be, with a full head of black hair!

  1. Congratulations! It cracks me up how people have a baby and post about it within hours – like getting a new hairstyle. No biggie. Just gave birth, now I gotta train for that marathon.

  2. I was wrong. Just knew it was gonna be a boy. What a beautiful name! And congratulations!!!!!!!! Can’t wait to see a pic!

  3. Congratulations!!!! Wow! I didn’t expect a post that fast! I’m so glad to hear that everything went well and that is a beautiful name! Can’t wait to see the pictures.

  4. CONGRATULATIONS!! Iยดm glad you didn’t have to wait longer for the little girl. Can’t wait to see her.

  5. CONGRATULATIONS !!!
I bet she looks just like you.
Glad you’re doing ok and I can’t wait to see pictures too.

  6. Congratulations! I didn’t expect a post that quickly! Sounds like you had the computer with you at the hospital. And you were able to go home so quickly as well!

Beautiful names! Brynja is her first name?

  7. Thank you, everyone! Yes, the labor and delivery were just about as easy as those things can go, though it was longer than I would have liked (ten or eleven hours, all told), and the hospital stay was DEFINITELY longer than I wanted. I was ready to go home an hour or two after she was born–and would have been thrilled to be able to go after the minimum six hours, like we did with Petra–but we ended up not leaving until one o’clock yesterday afternoon, nineteen hours after I delivered.

And yep, her tilltalsnamn (or “first name”) is Brynja … my husband is apparently the only Swede in the world who thinks it’s a good choice, but I suppose everyone else will just have to adjust! ๐Ÿ˜‰
