Back among the living

So it turns out that my illness wasn’t a one-day thing as I had hoped it would be. I woke up Sunday feeling much worse than I had on Saturday. I didn’t get out of bed until after two in the afternoon, and the eight or so hours I was up felt like an eternity spent in hell. Needless to say, I missed brunch.

Yesterday started out not much better and I was starting to despair when Olof suggested that I try one of the Tex-Mex cup o’soup type envelopes that we had in the cupboard. He said they had helped him feel better last time he was sick, and at that point I think I would have tried anything, so I mixed up a cup. Wonder of wonders, it worked! Honestly, I immediately felt noticeably better. An hour or two later, I made up another cup, and I felt better still. Unfortunately, we had only two envelopes and the store doesn’t have any more in stock, because they were darn tasty, in addition to being some sort of miracle brew. In any case, when I got up this morning, I actually felt like a human being again and was able to function at almost-normal capacity today. I still have a sore throat, but it’s nothing compared to what it was (I can eat solid food, at least, not to mention swallow my own saliva). I’m figuring that I’ll be good as new within a couple of days. Thanks to everyone who wished me well earlier!
