Rub-a-dub-dub

After five long years, we finally have a full-size bathtub, and the kids are loving it. For the time being we have to fill it from the shower and drain it with a hose duct-taped to the underside, but those are minor enough issues. The big problem is that our current water heater is far too small to heat enough water to fill it, so Tage and Petra are the only ones who’ve gotten to try it. A couple of months ago we ordered a new deluxe water heater, but the installers are still working on vacation backlog, so we’re not sure when we’ll be able to run a full tub of steaming water. Me, I’m actually more interested in taking a long, hot shower–something I haven’t done at home since we moved in here–but a bath does sound nice as well, especially with the near-winter-like temperatures we’ve been having lately.

  1. I admire your fortitude. I couldn’t live without a bathtub and, failing that, I couldn’t live without long, hot showers!

  2. Petra’s eyes are the most adult eyes I’ve ever seen on a child. They’re intense – at least in this photo.
As for living without, I understand. I washed clothes in a pail for 6 months when we were in Crete. Congratulations on your new luxury.
