Takin’ the night train

In an hour or so Lydia and I will hop in the car to drive down to Umeå, where we will catch the overnight train to Stockholm.  Tomorrow morning we’ll meet up there with my mom, who’s on her way to the airport in Houston even as I type, and we’ll spend three “girls only” days on the town before heading back up here to the frozen north (which is anything but frozen these days — Skellefteå reported the hottest temperature in all of Sweden last Sunday).

I’ve got plans to meet up with a few different friends, too, while I’m in town, but mostly I expect we’ll be shopping, eating, and shopping some more (I did mention Lydia will be with us, right?).  We’re going to try to get some sight-seeing in as well, with Djurgården and Gamla Stan on our to-do list.  My mom didn’t get to see Stockholm last time she was here, so it will be fun to show her around a little, and at the nicest time of the year to boot!
