Mission Accomplished!

I know you’ve all been waiting on tenterhooks to find out if I passed the National Exam, and now you can breathe a sigh of relief, because the answer is “yes.” The oral exam consisted of another girl and me talking for fifteen minutes or so with the instructor, and for once I managed to speak more or less okay. After we were done talking, he told us that we both had passed and gave us the results of the reading comprehension and written parts of the exam. I’m going to toot my own horn here for a minute, so bear with me — I missed only one question on the reading comprehension and the instructor said that both he and the other SAS teacher thought my essay was very good both stylistically and grammatically. Yay me! Anyway, I’ve finally got one of those elusive slutbetyg (a final grade — VG, only because MVG isn’t on the scale for this test) and I’m going to be starting the gymnasie-level course on Monday morning.

In other news, Tage is sick and it’s no fun for anyone. It’s just a cold, so nothing serious, but he’s pretty miserable. He has a really awful-sounding cough, and I’m sure his throat hurts because Olof’s and mine both hurt. So far Lydia appears to have escaped unscathed, and I’m hoping that continues. No reason for everyone to be sick if we can avoid it. I just remembered that I have some children’s cough medicine that Kitty brought back for me from Canada! I’ll have to check and see if Tage’s big enough yet to take it. Otherwise I guess I’ll be off to the pharmacy to see if they have anything to offer a poor, sick little baby.

  3. Thanks, Carrie and Leslie!

It really is a great feeling — and such a relief now that it’s over! 🙂
