My mom left last night, so it looks as though my posting hiatus is over. We’re all sad that she’s gone, but I’m so happy that we got to have a good long visit with her, and that she got to see where we live and meet my in-laws (not to mention my husband and my son, whom she hadn’t before met!), and to get a little taste of Sweden. I’m still hoping that she decides to move to Sweden one day, but she’s only 51, and retirement is a long way off, so we’ll see what happens. I do think that now that she’s visited us here she’s taking the possibility a little more seriously. In any case, an eventual move would be years away, so no sense putting the cart before the horse, as it were.
We’re having a quiet, boring, somewhat lonely weekend at home now, since Olof has been in Paris for work in Thursday afternoon. It was something of a last-minute trip, as he found out only Monday evening that he would be going. At least it’s only for a few days, and he’ll be back late tomorrow night. I’m glad that it’s only occasionally that he has to travel for work, because I really don’t like it when Olof’s away.
I’ve been spending as much time as possible last night and this afternoon working on the persuasive speech that I have to give in my Swedish class on Monday morning. It’s supposed to be five minutes long, and I think I’ve got it pretty much down. I just wish Olof were here to listen to me give it a once-through.
Welcome back Beverly! I was getting really sad without my kinda-daily doses of your page. I hope you’re doing well without Olof this weekend! He’ll be home tomorrow, yay!!!
hugs, helena
