So yesterday was Halloween, and we had a little party here and invited Olof’s family to join us. Lydia and her cousin Saga dressed up in their witch costumes first thing in the morning, and it proved to be a long day for them, as the party didn’t start until six o’clock in the evening. When party time finally arrived, Lydia was a bit tired and cranky, so she didn’t end up having as much fun as she anticipated, unfortunately. All in all, though, it was a fun evening and I’m glad that my mom has gotten to meet Olof’s family and spend some time with them.
We don’t have anything on for today, which is nice. I feel like we’ve been going non-stop for the past several days, and it’s good to have a day of relaxation. I’m feeling on the verge of an MS flare-up, and I’m trying to ward that off with prednisone and rest. I haven’t had a “real” flare-up in more than six months, and I’d like to keep that streak alive.
Tomorrow we’re going to Olof’s parents’ house for a late lunch/early dinner, and I’m sure there will be a fair amount of activity involved with that. There are so many people there that it’s always a bit hectic when we have family gatherings. I’m really happy, though, to be part of a large extended family and it’s wonderful that my kids get to grow up surrounded by so many warm, loving people. Now if only my mom would move to Sweden, everything would be perfect.
I keep trying to convince my family of the same thing!
Our winter finally arrived with an arctic blast. We’ve been hovering around 25 degree F with high winds making it feel like it’s about 5 degrees. And it snowed! Yipee!
I talked to my Dad last night (who lives in western Montana, just a couple of hours from where you are), and he said the same thing about the arctic blast! He said winter had arrived with a vengeance!
Oh yeah – we’ve got loads of snow and it’s COLD!! I was hoping to ease into winter. Fat chance!
Sigh – off to shovel…
