Tage’s entertaining himself right now, so I’d better take the opportunity to type while I can! He’s so cute … he’s got the plastic box-type thing from some toy package and he’s put a ball into it and is pushing it around the room. I don’t know what it is with little boys, but they can turn everything into a car! Speaking of cars, one of his favorite toys is Lydia’s Barbie Ferrari. He think it’s just the greatest thing, and Lydia is pretty good about letting him play with it. It probably doesn’t hurt that she’s had it for a few years, so the coolness of it has pretty much worn off for her. The other day I suggested to her that she give it to him, but apparently it’s still cool enough that she’s not quite ready to part with it permanently. I guess for the time being he’ll have to satisfy himself with “borrowing” it.
It’s a beautiful sunny day outside, but it’s still cold, cold, cold! The current temperature is right at 0°C (32°F), and we still have snow everywhere. People have even gotten out their sparks. Last night Olof’s parents came by and got the dogs and took them out “sparking,” which wears them out better than anything else! Lydia asked me this morning if we could get her spark out of the garage, so I suppose I’ll venture out there this afternoon and drag it out.
We’re having cold weather down here, but no snow so far. Nothing that stays on the ground anyway.
I wish I had a spark, they’re fun! 🙂
There’s just nowhere to store it when you live in an apartment. =)
I still haven’t mastered the skill of sparking, myself … I think maybe it’s one of those things you have to be born to! 😉
Ooooh! A spark! We had one of those when I was a child, but then the winters ALWAYS meant a lot of snow. Now I live in Gothenburg and the snow never stays. Either it melts or they go out with the salt-mashines and turn the snow into grey slush…
“Mission impossible” to try to use a spark in Gothenburg…

Sparks are a major form of transportation around here (as you probably know if you grew up where there’s lots of snow!). Where did you grow up, by the way?
Never heard of them before last year – now I WANT one!! They’re next to impossible to find here and I’m afraid to buy one from Sweden for the cost of shipping. My dog would love to go ‘sparking’.
BTW, for my son everything is a ball or is thrown. He’s slowly getting into the car stuff as well, but it’s not as good as a ball in his mind. They’re so cute at this age.
He he! Mo, you should come here and bring one home with you. Do you think it is possible to bring it home as “hand luggage”??? *lol* Usually p&p for things aren’t that expensive, especially if you don’t need it immediately. If you let them send it by boat, it will still arrive during winter, but be MUCH less expensive than sending it by airmail.
Beverly. Well. I grew up i Skövde, rigth between lake Vänern and lake Vättern, but since it is an “indland climat” (as opposed to coast climat”, the snows comes earlier and stays longer. But even there they’ve been having to little snow to be able to go sparking.
