This morning we were up and out of the house early, on our way to the swimming pool and water slides at Pite havsbad, about an hour’s drive north from where we live. We got there just before 11 a.m., which meant that we beat the rush that came later in the afternoon and were able to spend close to two hours swimming and playing without having to share the space with crowds of other people. The pools were fun, but the slides were pretty much wasted on us as I’m not a water slide person on my best day, Lydia won’t go in water over her head, and Tage’s too little yet to do much more than wade and splash around. I think Olof might have given it a go if one of us had been willing or able to go with him, but as it was, we all spent most of our time playing and splashing with Tage. We had a nice time, though, and when we were ready to leave we had to literally drag Tage from the water, lips blue and teeth chattering.
We left just before one o’clock and went a couple of miles into Piteå, where we had some lunch and did a bit of shopping before heading home. We were all exhausted by the early morning, the swimming, and the heat (I don’t know if it’s just me, but every time we go to Piteå it seems much hotter there than it does down here), and we three passengers dozed off in the car while Olof drove. It’s rare for me to be able to sleep while riding in a car, even if I’m very tired, so I must really have worn myself out. I guess it’s no surprise, then, that I lay down and took a two-hour nap as soon as we were home and didn’t get up until nearly seven o’clock. The rest did me good, but now it’s going to be a good long time before I’m ready for bed, I think.
Oh wow! That looks fun! We are supposed to go to Sydpolen when Tor has his vacation. I hope it is as fun as that place looks. Glad you had a nice family day out.
Impressed that you went to Pite havsbad the day before having a baby!
