It would appear that I was mistaken when I said that Lydia wasn’t missing going to school. She was already out of bed and dressed when I got up this morning and she left the house at five to eight, even though her school is just across the street and she doesn’t have to be there until eight-thirty. Of course, school itself wasn’t the draw; rather it was her innate need to socialize that propelled her on her merry way this morning, but either way it was a relief not to have to battle with her as I usually do.
After tomorrow she has a week off for winter break, but she’s decided that she wants to go to fritids Monday, Thursday, and Friday as she normally does. It’s probably just as well, because that breaks up the boredom for her, but I can’t help lamenting the fact that I’ll have to get up with her those mornings and won’t have nine consecutive days to sleep in. Ah well, on vacation days she does go in at nine o’clock instead of eight-thirty, so I guess I’ll have to content myself with an extra half-hour those days.
Alex has had his break this week and wouldn’t you know it, I’ve woken up on my own every damn day by 7am!!
Argh, that would drive me nuts! What a waste of vacation days! 😉
