October first already. How did that happen? It seems just yesterday that I was complaining about the summer heat, but that’s obviously not the case because now I’m running around the house turning on the radiators. As much as it pains me to say it, I expect we’ll have snow soon. Not too soon, I hope, but considering that we saw a temperature of 3°C this evening, it can’t be too far off.
My Braves lost the first game of the division series last night, which is worrisome, especially considering that this first series is just a best of five. Best-of-five series always make me nervous, because it’s so easy for a team to lose momentum and the series can be lost in the blink of an eye. With seven games, there’s more of a chance to turn things around. Of course, it doesn’t help matters that the Braves have a long-standing history of choking in the post-season. Every year I hope against hope that this is the year it will be different. I still have hope for this year, actually, because they’ve lost only one game. Just one game. They can bounce back from that. Right? In any case, I intend to stay up and watch the game tonight, even though it doesn’t start until one in the morning. I will definitely need a nap tomorrow afternoon.
Asbjørn is becoming quite the trick dog. In addition to sitting up like a pro, he’s well on his way to rolling over. He’s so smart and catches on to what I want him to do really quickly. Unfortunately, Mette doesn’t like to see him getting the attention, and she’s been attacking him whenever we work on the rolling over, so he’s a bit hesitant to do it now if she’s anywhere in the vicinity. Poor guy.
We’ve had snow on the ground all week. Fun, fun, fun. Your dogs sound cute. Poor guy getting attacked by Mette! Silly dogs.
Just say “no” to snow! Ah, if only it were that easy …
