Family fun

Last Saturday there was a “torgfest” (town square party) in our little town, so after Tage got finished mowing the lawn (with adequate supervision, of course), we got ourselves together and walked over to see what there was to see. It turned out there was a little something for most everyone — Petra jumped in the bouncy castle, Brynja had her face painted, and Tage made the rounds of the flea market tables. In addition, we all had cotton candy and Petra and Brynja had pony rides. There wasn’t much for Yrsa, I suppose, but people-watching kept her busy enough until she fell asleep in the stroller.

Just before we headed back home, I popped in to the big flea market that’s open most weekends, and I made two great finds: a two-liter, enameled cast-iron dutch oven in near-mint condition for 120 kronor (less than twenty bucks), and a little storage cabinet perfect for a space I’d been needing to fill for only 60 kronor. Olof was less satistifed, because he had to go back with the car to pick up the cabinet, but hey, we all have to make sacrifices sometimes.
