Brynja has a birthday next week, and we’re having a little family get-together tomorrow afternoon to celebrate, which means I spent most of the day in the kitchen baking goodies to serve. As usual, I made way more than we need, but a few different recipes caught my fancy and I couldn’t bear to leave any of them out. I made four dozen cupcakes (three different kinds) and forty or so of that time-honored Swedish standby, kanelbullar (cinnamon buns), and even though we’ll be a small crowd of about fifteen, I know it’s way too much. I’m already sort of dreading the sugar high we’ll all be on tomorrow evening, but oh, what fun we’ll have getting there.
