Saturday

The skies were clear and blue this morning, and the temperature was reasonable, so it seemed as good a time as any to get out of the house and try to shake this cabin fever. We couldn’t do anything too involved, considering both the state I’m in and the bad cold that’s weighing Olof down, but we did manage to get ourselves to town for a big grocery shop and and a fast-food lunch with the younger kids (the payoff has to be much more significant than a burger and fries for Lydia to deign to venture out with the rest of us).

Olof and I came home exhausted, but sadly, being out and about didn’t do a thing to diminish the kids’ energy levels. If anything, they were crazier than ever this afternoon and evening. Poor things, it can’t be much fun living with parents who mostly just want to sit around and moan and groan, trying to one-up each other with various aches, pains, and discomforts. Here’s hoping it won’t be too, too long before we’re all back up to normal speed again.

  1. Hang in there! You make me laugh picturing you and Olof sitting around with your aches and pains … and the kids running around like crazy. Good for you for getting the big grocery shop done…ready for the baby now, right?!

  2. Ya know, that is PRECISELY what I did the day before Kevin came… we were in City Gross, it was kinda funny, my phone sms went off, checked it, and it was my Google Calendar Reminder telling me that the next day was Kevin’s due date… of course, I had put the date in the calendar something like 9 months before, so it was just a fluke, but don’t you know it, little buggar actually came on time… Hanna, my “American child” came late, Caitlyn, my “Swedish to the max child” came early ;), and Kevin, our lagom kid, came on time 😉

  3. Yeah, Sarah, we’re quite the pair these days 😉

Naomi — the closest any of mine has come to the due date is five days, and whether they’re early or late is all over the place. I’ve just about given up on it ever happening.

Les, you know she wouldn’t think you were funny. Hmph. 😉
