Yep, you read right — it’s snowing! It’s been coming down steadily for a half-hour or so and doesn’t show any signs of letting up. Luckily the ground is too warm now for it to stick, but it’s a bit disheartening just the same.
In happier news, we have found a home for Mette! As it turns out the man from Trelleborg is really from Söderhamn (it was Olof the Swede who misheard him, not me, and apparently he didn’t realize that Trelleborg is in Skåne so it didn’t sound as strange to him as it did to me). In any case, this guy really wants her and it sounds like it will be a good place for her. His wife is on sick leave and will be home with her all the time, and they go out to the forest a lot and he even wants to try hunting with her, so it should work out well. They’ll be driving up on Sunday to pick her up, and it will be a relief to have her settled, finally. I’m still sad to lose her, but it’s been over a month since she lived with us anyway, so the worst of it has passed. I’m sure it will be harder for Olof’s mom, who really is quite attached to her.
