I don’t know if Tage’s having a growth spurt or if the cold he’s got is just wearing him down, but he is a sleeping fool right now. Yesterday evening he fell asleep around 5:30, which is a bit late for a nap, but there’s no keeping him awake when he decides it’s naptime. As it turned out, though, he didn’t wake up until almost 8:00 this morning! He’s asleep again now, having gone down for his nap at 3:30. If all goes well, he’ll get up in an hour or two and tonight will be a more normal night (and maybe I’ll get to sleep in a little tomorrow, since Lydia’s on Easter break this week). At least I’ve gotten the chance to mop the floors and do some other cleaning while he’s been sleeping!
Olof leaves for Mexico on Friday evening, and I’m gearing up to be without him for a week. I know some of you have had to (or still have to) live for much longer stretches without your guys, but I’m a big baby and have a hard time when he’s gone (and, no, Liz, my last story in Mosaic Minds wasn’t autobiographical from a past life, but rather a sort of pre-autobiography in anticipation of these coming seven days–the longest we’ve been apart–except that the existence of two kids, two cats, and a dog, plus the lack of a Swedish driver’s license, will keep me from making an impromptu road trip).
Speaking of Mosaic Minds, last night I started working on what I hope will turn into a feature article for the upcoming issue. I haven’t done a feature before, but non-fiction is much, much easier for me to write than fiction is, so I’m not really stressing about it. I’d like to write a fiction piece this time as well, but I’m just not “feeling” this theme (“Heroes and Role Models”), as they say, and nothing has come to me yet. I still have about two-and-a-half weeks, though, until the deadline, so who knows what will happen. I haven’t even started thinking about Gravy Train yet.
