In recent years my holiday greeting/Christmas card list has grown by leaps and bounds. Last year I sent out some sixty cards to family and friends and had nearly as many sent to my own mailbox from various points on the globe. I know it seems pointless and unmodern to many people, but I’ve really had a lot of fun doing it.
This year, however, I’m just not feeling it at all. Usually by September I’m chomping at the bit to pick out my cards and I’ve often started writing them out before Halloween. Ordinarily, they’re all addressed and ready to drop in the post by Thanksgiving weekend at the latest, and I make a trip to the mailbox in the first week of December to send my little missives on their merry way. This year, not a bit of it. I haven’t even looked at cards, let alone considered buying anything. In fact, I think I’ve decided to give it a miss. Maybe I’ll be back on my game next year, who knows. In any case, this year is right out. Sorry about that.
