Wet and wild

The gods marked Midsummer by sending us a spectacular storm this afternoon, complete with thunder and lightning, rain and hail.  Olof and Petra had walked to the grocery store to pick up some hamburger buns and were caught in the deluge on their way back.  At home, I had been alerted by a couple of impossible-to-miss thunderclaps, so I hopped in the car and hurried to meet them, thereby keeping them from getting any more than halfway soaked.  Lydia and her friends weren’t so lucky — they ran all the way home from the Midsummer market and carnival, and the water was literally pouring off them onto the entryway floor.  Four large, clean towels were dedicated to mopping up these girls and their puddles, and still they left a watery trail from the front door to Lydia’s room.  Click here for a little peek at the storm in all its glory.
