Fun with graphics

Yesterday afternoon we made an impromptu trip to our favorite purveyor of electronics and household appliances. Among other things, we picked up a new fever thermometer, as I seemed to have misplaced our old one. Olof, seeming not to grasp that you can use any thermometer more or less anywhere on the body–and fearing, I assume, having to take any backdoor readings–asked me “what kind” it was. I turned the package over, just to make sure, and was greeted by this image. Doesn’t get much clearer than that, I’d say.

  1. I thought you’d have one of those ear thingies, though that kind, I’m sure, doesn’t take the back door 😉

  2. All the fever thermometer’s we’ve bought at apotek are like one thing or the other. 😛 So I have an arm thermometer that takes… you’ll like this… 10 minutes AND doesn’t beep for you. So we bought a mouth one that takes only 3 minutes and still doesn’t beep. Who the heck wants to time their own thermometer readings when they are sick?

  3. I have also seen that pacifier thermometer but the ear one still looks the easiest and quickest. Though I don’t have any kids yet so I wouldn’t know 🙂

  4. We do have the ear one, and it is quick and easy, but it’s too big for little-kid ears, unfortunately. The pacifier one does look pretty handy. I wonder how long it takes to get a reading? (I can’t believe your thermometer takes 10 minutes, Sarah! Gah! Even three is too long, and no timer?!)
