I ordered a couple of new nursing bras, a pair of earrings, and a few CDs on eBay last week (honestly, there is nothing you can’t buy there — I hardly shop anywhere else these days), and the goods have started rolling in. Today’s haul was one of the bras and the new Pat Monahan CD. The CD is good, as I expected it to be, but the bra is nothing short of miraculous.
For the past few weeks I’d been making do with my nursing bras from Petra’s baby days, and that was not good. The underwire on one sticks out and leaves big scratches across my boob, and the other one has an itchy, poky part on the back that gave me a painful welt under one of my shoulder blades.
At first I tried wearing one of my regular bras instead, but with all the baby-feeding I’m doing these days it was just too much hassle, so I learned to deal with the discomfort of the worn-out bras. I didn’t realize it was bothering me as much as it was until after wearing this new bra for a couple of hours. You’d think that I’d know by now–after all these years of buxom-ness–not to underestimate the power of a good bra, but I really was amazed at the difference it’s made. I feel like a whole new woman.
And just think, in the next couple of days I’ll be getting a second new bra, which means I can wash one while wearing the other, and I’ll never again have to resort to one of those old stabby torture devices. How’s that for luxury?
Oh, and about the post title, it’s just a little bilingual pun, bra being the Swedish word for good. I know, I know, but sometimes I can’t help myself.
Okay, when the heydiddlyhoo did Train break up? Btw, whenever I tell anyone about my very first concert they say, “Who is Train?” lol I always throw in how we were close enough to touch Pat Monahan’s boot. Sometimes I even share my falling down the stairs story! 😀
I was just telling Lydia that story the other day, when we were listening to the CD in the car! She wasn’t especially impressed, I don’t think; she just wondered why we would want to touch someone’s boot! 😀
And I don’t think they’re “officially” broken up, actually … just taking some “time off to pursue other projects.” We’ll see how that turns out.
I like Train too!
Anna, any chance you saw them in Stockholm in January 2002? If so, you and Leslie and I were at the same concert! 😀
