Saturday

It’s been a good weekend so far. Yesterday my friend Andrea and her little boy Zach came up from UmeĆ„ and spent the night. We had a nice visit and the kids got in some good play-time before they left this morning. As she usually does, Andrea came bearing gifts, and we were all feeling pretty spoiled. I’ve been eating more Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups than I really need, and I’ve enjoyed every bite!

Lydia went this afternoon to play at a friend’s house, and it was nice to have a few hours to unwind in peace and quiet after all the hustle and bustle of the last couple of days. Lydia’s social life is really taking off lately, and it seems that almost every day she either has friends over here or goes to someone else’s house to play. I’m glad she’s settling in and making friends so well. She’s always been a bit shy, so I was somewhat worried last year that she didn’t seem to be playing much with the other girls in her class. This year is totally different, and she’s gotten involved in quite a few activities (dancing, children’s choir, ice skating, etc.), which keeps her busy and also helps her to make connections with other kids her age.
