What, me? Cranky? Hmph.

At the beginning of the summer, our one Windows machine bit the dust. It could be something simple or it could be a total loss, but I won’t know until Olof gets a chance to take a look at it. The problem is that, being a hater of all things Microsoft, he’s not feeling much motivation to try to get it back on its feet. I’ve tried to be a good sport about this, but I’m quickly reaching the end of my patience. For all intents and purposes, that machine was *my* computer, and all my bookmarks, my email program, and my photo-editing software are there, and I’m going crazy without them. I do have crappy access to my email at another computer, and I’ve managed to remember most of my bookmarks, but this no-picture business is killing me. I’ve just spent an hour or so trying to edit pictures and save them to the server using some program Olof found hidden away on his system, but all I got for my troubles was a whole lot of frustration. I’ve got some really good pictures, too–Tage on horseback! Petra in sunglasses! Lydia in Finland! Tadpoles in a bucket!–but it’s anybody’s guess when I’ll be able to share them.
