One month from today, my mom will be arriving in Stockholm for a month-long visit to Sweden. We haven’t seen her since her last visit, in the fall of 2003. This is by far the longest I’ve ever gone without seeing my mom, and with every passing day I get more and more excited about her being here. For the past couple of months, our weekly phone calls have been filled with vacation plans and shopping lists. I think we’ve made enough requests to fill my mom’s luggage allowance a couple of times over — good thing we have laundry facilities, ’cause she’s not going to have much room in her suitcases for clothes!
I am a little embarrassed about her coming to Sweden, though, just because everything here is so much more expensive than in the States. Not only that, but the dollar is so low against the crown right now that it’s costing Americans a small fortune to play tourist. I hope the sticker shock isn’t too much for her.
So does it mean she has never met Petra?
Hopefully you can treat her too most things.
WOO! I know how excited you must be! I wish my parents could come for another visit during the pretty time of year. Maybe one day.
I am sad that I don’t get to meet her. 🙁 But I know you will have a great time!
You should not be embarrassed about how high things are there. You live in a beautiful country and will have lots of beautiful scenery to show her.
We were only there for one week and loved it:)
Sure hope you take lots of pictures and share them 🙂
I am excited for you that your Mom is coming to see you and evenmore excited that my daughter is coming to see me!!
