Petra snoring, peek-a-booing, and counting
The counting is a mixture of English and Swedish; after Lydia says, “One,” Petra continues, “two, three, åtta (8), nio (9), elva (11), tolv (12) … elva, elva, tolv … elva, tolv … elva, elva, tolv … elva, tolv.” When we go up the stairs together, she counts every step, “åtta, nio, åtta, nio.” I think there must be something pleasing to little kids about those two words together, because Tage fixated on them as well when he was a toddler. Until he was at least three, every number he saw was “åtta-nio,” which I think is particularly funny given that we really don’t speak Swedish here at home.
