I’m beginning to wonder how a dog can go from a barking watch dog to almost comatose within minutes. One of my co-workers has a six year old German Shepherd dog (a bitch) which lives through her days in the office. Sometimes you have to watch where you step, because suddenly there is a lot of dog laying in your way. As soon as she hears an odd noise, she’s up on her legs ready to protect her owner. Then it is back to half sleeping position again. If her owner is gone for an errand, the dog goes apathic and barely a burglar would cause her alert.
