Lydia is all about the pop stars these days, so when I read in the paper that last year’s Idol winner, Agnes Carlsson, was going to be performing and signing autographs at our local mall, I knew we had to be there. Though her music isn’t really my style, I have a soft spot for Agnes myself, so it sounded like a fun Saturday outing to me, too.
As it turned out, it was a pretty hectic scene and Lydia’s behavior was far from exemplary. In fact, I probably would have taken her and her smart mouth home if we hadn’t also had her two friends along, but I didn’t want to ruin their fun as much as Lydia was ruining mine.
The best part of the day, for me, was when Lydia’s friend Sandra told me as we were leaving (after she had spent ten minutes taking dozens of pictures of Agnes), “I think it was worth it to stand there for a long time and almost sweat to death.” That more than made up for Lydia’s bad attitude and, all in all, I think it was a good day.
And though she clearly didn’t appreciate it at the time, Lydia was happy later that I snapped this picture of her with her idol:
*att möta Lassie — a Swedish expression for meeting a celebrity
Although “möta Lassie” is more far-fetched things. Like “my uncle is neighbour with the grandmother of Agnes”.
I have fun with, cause I discovered exactly what I was having a look for. You’ve ended my four day lengthy hunt! God Bless you man. Have a nice day. Bye
