Banana Guards are the talk of some of my friends’ blogs lately, so a picture of this rare specimen seemed topical. I don’t know how well you can tell from the picture, but this is a whole lotta banana … from end to end it measures 24 centimeters (that’s 9½ inches, boys and girls!). I’m tempted, obviously, to make a ribald joke here, but my husband reminds me that this is a family blog, so I’ll refrain. I’ll put the raw material out there, but the witticisms are up to you, dear readers.
This being a family blog, I will refrain from listing other possible uses for banana guards. And anyway, in our house bananas never last that long. And if taken along to work, they are promptly eaten on the way, or when waiting for the bus, or on the bus, or walking from the bus stop, etc. And eating a banana in public can be a highly enjoyable experience, especially when you have an exhibitionist streak, and like to embarrass innocent bystanders. LOL! 🙂
