Blustery Day

The weather was so beautiful last week and I kept meaning to write something about spring finally being in the air, but in the end I’m glad I didn’t. I’d hate to have left for posterity proof that I was, yet again, fooled by a few days of blue skies. I woke to snow this morning and, after a full day of wind and more and more and more snowfall, we’ve got a good (good? Ha!) six inches of fresh snow drifted up and over our front steps. The worst of it is that–when spring finally does come ’round the bend–it’ll be just that many more days until all this foul stuff melts away. If I weren’t afraid of tempting the Fates, I’d wish for a little global warming to come our way.

  1. First – what are those red & blue things sticking up from the snow in the bottom of the second picture? Are they those kick-sleds that apparently aren’t allowed out of Sweden since I can’t find them anywhere?!?
Second – you should read my post about springtime in Canada. I’ve had similar sentiments.

  2. Yep, those are the kick-sleds … the bottom halves are buried in snow; otherwise I’d have taken a picture of them in their entirety. 😉

It seems we do have a like mind where this never-ending winter is concerned!
