After much last-minute stress and anxiety, the new issue of Mosaic Minds went live this morning, right on schedule. As usual, we’ve got lots of great stuff there, so go check it out!

For my book column I made up a New Year’s reading list with ten books that I resolve to read this year, and I’ve just gotten started today on the first one, One Hundred Years of Solitude by Gabriel García Márquez. So far I’ve read only to the middle of the second chapter, but it’s already shaping up to be a good read. I’ve heard that it can be difficult to get through, so I hope I don’t end up having to struggle too much with it.

In other news, it was Olof’s and my second wedding anniversary yesterday. He brought me a nice bouquet of tulips, but other than that we didn’t do much to mark the day. Getting married was mostly a formality, and the date of my move to Sweden (January 18) is actually a more significant anniversary for us. It would have been nice, probably, if we had gotten married on that date instead, but the whole thing was rather spur-of-the-moment and we just took the first available time that the courthouse offered us. Maybe I’ll do a retrospective post about the past four years when the “real” anniversary comes in a few days. Or maybe I won’t … I’m whimsical that way.
