Yesterday was Tage’s name day (thanks, Tomas, for the explanatory link — I should have thought to include that myself!), which meant chocolate cupcakes for dessert (Sarah, I’ll post the recipe for the banana cake soon — it needs translation and conversion, and I don’t have it handy just now).

Today, being the first Sunday in August, was the joint birthday party for the kids, which meant still more cake. Olof made the standard Swedish gräddtårta, or cream cake, of which you can catch a glimpse in the background of this picture. Front and center is the bunny cake that Petra requested. She wasted no time decapitating it and downing the head with relish, but — perhaps luckily — I don’t have pictures of the carnage.
