So you’ve probably noticed that Brynja turned five last week, an event that came as a great relief to her. Being four had weighed heavily on her the past month or so. And it’s true, five is a big deal. Some of you might remember that it was just a few days after turning five that Petra decided to get a pixie cut. No such dramatic changes are afoot for Brynja, I think, but she can now play the robot game she got for Christmas free from anxiety about violating the appropriate age range suggested by the manufacturer.

Speaking of presents, she’s certainly enjoying everything she received — apart from the Mario Kart DS game that she promptly lost — but her favorites are undoubtedly the Captain America sweatshirt (though she says it’s Iron Man) and the Phineas and Ferb magazine that she got from my mom.
