TGIF

This has been sort of a rough week. There were first days of school, longer-than-usual work days, back-to-school colds, and long nights of teething, congestion, and bad dreams. None of us managed to get through it entirely unscathed. Friday could not have come too soon.

As much as I hate to say it, though, it was probably good practice for the upcoming weeks. Next week, in addition to our regular schedule, both Lydia and I have doctor’s appointments (Lydia’s is in Umeå, two hours away), Lydia has a haircut, and Tage’s violin lessons start up again. And the week after that I start school.

My first week of school will be particularly hectic, I fear. For me, because I’ll be traveling a lot and also it’s the beginning, so I’ll be trying to figure everything out. For Olof and the kids, because I’ll be gone more days than I’ll be home. I’ll fly down on Monday for registration and stay the next couple of days for classes. I’ll fly home Wednesday evening and be home Thursday, when Tage and I have violin classes and Petra has soccer practice. Friday morning I’ll fly back to Uppsala, spend the day there, and fly back that night, arriving home around 11. I have no doubt that I’m going to need that weekend even more than I need this one.

  1. Wow…I’m tired just reading that. How long is the flight to Uppsala? Will you be flying back and forth every week…or does just the first week involve so much travel? Olof better start taking double doses of vitamins to hold down the fort!

  2. And start collecting miles. 😛 Get a eurobonus card thing from sas if you haven’t already! 😛

  3. The flight is about an hour, then it takes twenty minutes or so to go by train to Uppsala. It’s pretty manageable. The first week is going to be the worst — mostly I’ll be gone just a day or two every week.

And yep, I’m collecting miles — I’m gonna need a vacation when this is all done! 😀
