One of the best things about little kids is the off-the-wall things they say, and raising kids with more than one language adds a whole other level of awesome to the mix. Because we speak mostly English at home, our kids don’t usually speak much Swedish until they’re three or four, but they do, of course, pick up bits and pieces.
Several months ago Yrsa mastered the time-honored “wave and bye-bye,” then a couple of months after that she added a Swedish twist. It took me a time or two to hear what she was saying, but once I got that it was a mash-up of “bye-bye” and “hej då” I was charmed like nobody’s business.
I think my heart just melted and rainbows appeared and butterflies flew around. Something magical about children speaking 2 languages that mean so much to you personally! What a cutie pie!
Oh and I love the big blue crocs! 😉
That is off the charts cute. Nice crocs, too.
Oh isn’t she cute!
