The kids were out of school this whole past week for fall break, and it was a lovely week for it, weather-wise. Or it would have been, if we hadn’t all been in various stages of sickness all week long. Luckily, it wasn’t anything more serious than a sore-throat-and-cough kind of virus, but it was enough to keep us feeling less like going out and enjoying the autumn and more like sitting inside with a blanket and a cup of hot tea. And now, after several days of that, the three middles are in the throes of a cabin fever so ferocious that I’m counting the minutes until Monday morning.
