The fourth Thursday in November being just an ordinary workday here in Sweden, we had our Thanksgiving celebration yesterday evening. In years past we’ve had some pretty large crowds, with as many as five or six different families, but this year we scaled down quite a bit and enjoyed the feast with just our family–including Olof’s parents–and my friend Debbie’s family. It was very relaxed and cozy, though with seven kids between us, we also had a fair amount of noise and activity.
The meal was the usual fare and it was just as tasty as ever. My mother-in-law made the turkey this year, and for a first effort it was positively amazing. I don’t think any turkey I’ve made myself has ever turned out so moist and flavorful. If she’s not careful, she might end up on permanent turkey duty!

Saturday I served 10 Swedes 🙂 It was scary, but I did a good job (I think) for making my first Thanksgiving meal ever! Especially in a foreign country with foreign ingredients! 🙂 Now it’s time for Swedish Christmas, and I’m leaving that up to the Swedish experts, my future in-laws! 🙂 and the baby is toooooo cute!
Oooooooooh! I must kiss her!
