November really is the worst month in Sweden. With few exceptions, the days are grey and dull and the clouds hang so oppressively thick and low in the sky that it seems never to get truly light out. This year we haven’t even got snow on the ground to lighten things up a little. While I’m no fan of snow, generally speaking, I can’t dispute that a good cover does wonders to brighten up these drab and somber surroundings.

We really need a change in the weather, and soon. The past several days have been muddy and cheerless to such a degree that even the kids and dogs venture out only unwillingly. Would that hibernation were an option.
