I got a new cellphone today, the first brand-new one I’ve ever had. It’s nothing especially fancy–a Sony Ericsson K660i–but it’s got enough bells and whistles to make Lydia a little envious. I had to practically wrench it from her grasp this afternoon so that I could enter the settings and whatnot myself. She was quick to point out that she knows much more about this sort of technology than I do, and the smart choice would be to let her set it all up for me, but I politely, if unwisely, declined.
Much more impressive to the gadget geeks in my life is the Nokia n900 that Olof ordered a few weeks ago and is hoping to receive before the month is out. Lately he’s been giving me thrice-daily news flashes about the expected shipping dates, real and imagined, and between those updates regaling me with tales of the wonder and glory that I can expect to behold as soon as that bad boy drops down in our mailbox. All I can say is that it’s a good thing he’s got some vacation days coming up at Christmas-time, because it’s doubtful that he’ll be getting much work done once his new toy arrives.
LOL…I’m just like Olof, so I can’t say anything. ;P
