We’ve had such beautiful fall weather here the past several weeks, with lots of blue skies and sunshine. The temperatures have been mostly moderate, with only a couple of of nighttime freezes, and it’s still plenty warm to go out with just a light jacket. We have had a bit of rain here and there in the last week or so, and a few days ago it did try to snow off and on for a few hours, but in the main it’s been lovely and autumnal.
Yesterday afternoon Lydia and I went to town for our monthly lunch date, and we were rather taken aback when we drove out of our little community and straight into winter! There was snow and slush and frost aplenty and the air had a positively wintry feel. It was a little eerie, actually, to discover that we’ve been in a little weather warp while the seasons have changed all around us. Olof says it’s just a result of our living right on the coast, and I know that’s true, but it doesn’t stop me feeling like there’s a little something more at work. I hope it lasts.
Autumn started out nice down here in the capital but now we’ve had at least a week, maybe 10 days, with just grey, rainy days 🙁 Not even a little bit of sunshine 🙁 But it’s supposed to change this, either tomorrow or Wednesday.
