This and That

Earlier today we went to town and, among other things, I went to Aqua Spa to use the gift certificate for a body scrub and kurbad (no idea how to translate that — it’s a bath) that my sisters-in-law gave me for the birthday last year. It was very relaxing and my skin is silky-smooth now. I could get used to that sort of treatment (not sure my pocketbook could, though). We so need a bathtub.

Tomorrow’s my trip to Stockholm and I’m really looking forward to it. It’s been almost a year since I was there last, which means I haven’t seen my Stockholm friends or eaten at Pizza Hut in way too long. I’m so excited at the prospect of hanging around the city and doing my own thing, with nobody but myself to worry about. I hardly ever go anywhere these days without one or the other of the kids, and if I do, it seems I’m always having to hurry up and get done with whatever I’m doing so that I can get back to the kids. I love being an at-home mom and I wouldn’t trade it for anything, but I could use a day on my own.

And last, but certainly not least, the new issue of Mosaic Minds is out today, so check it out if you haven’t already. There’s plenty to read there, including my contributions: Gravy Train and a piece of short fiction. Enjoy!
