We picked up the package with Tage’s new clothes yesterday afternoon, and it was a bit of a disappointment. I had ordered him seven pairs of pants and ten shirts, and although we got all the pants, we got only one of the shirts, along with a notification that all the rest were backordered and would likely be shipped the second week of November. Of course, it’s shirts he needs most, too, and pants that he could easily have done without for a couple more months. I wonder if I shouldn’t just cancel the rest of the order and buy him a bunch of shirts at one of the stores here. The problem with that is twofold, though: first, the clothes in the catalog are much cheaper than those at the store and second, I have a charge account with the catalog company so I don’t have to come up with a bunch of money up front to shop with them. It’s a dilemma.
Speaking of buying now and getting later, we bought a new washing machine yesterday and it’s set to be delivered tomorrow or Friday. I’m hoping for tomorrow, since it’s been months since I’ve done a proper load of laundry. The salesman at the appliance store was so funny– even though we told him which one we wanted as soon as he walked up to us, he stood there and gave us his whole ten-minute-long sales pitch on the washer we had picked out while we just stood there nodding. At the end, we just said, “okay,” filled out the buy-now-pay-later paperwork and walked out the door.
Are you sure the shirts will still fit in November?? These small kids seems to be growing quicker than “Jack’s beenstalk”??
Where have you bought the clothes from?? It’s always nice to do some windowshopping and long for things that you want to buy…

He does grow pretty fast — that’s one of the reasons I’m considering canceling the rest of the order! Although, I usually do buy the kids’ clothes a bit on the big side, so they may still work in a couple of months …
This particular order was from Ellos, and the stuff we did get seems to be pretty good quality and fairly cheap, too! 🙂
