It is COLD outside, even for northern Sweden in January. Depending on which of our thermometers you check, the temperature right now is anywhere from -17°C to -19°C (that’s right around zero, or even a little below, for you Fahrenheiters). That’s cold enough, even, for kids’ outside activities–like Saturday morning ice skating, for instance–to be canceled. For once I’m keeping my fingers crossed that it doesn’t warm up too much before 10 a.m. tomorrow.

Silver lining
January 2, 2009
We’ve been stuck around the -20C mark for-freakin’-ever (had two weeks before Christmas holidays, warmed up for a day or two, then temperatures tanked).
It’s getting ridiculous and with the kids at home and everyone underfoot since noone can go outside, I’m going insane. ‘They’ say that we’ll warm up on Monday – just in time for everyone to be back in school and back to work. Sigh.
Stay warm!
