Our cat, \u00c5sa, was hit by a car and killed last night. We got her, and her sister Pia–who died the same way in almost exactly the same place three-and-a-half years ago–two weeks after Lydia and I moved to Sweden. I have a little empty feeling now that they’re both gone.<\/p>\n
Counting Ola, we’ve now lost three cats to cars in just over three years. Until we lost Pia, I’d had only a half-dozen or so cats, maximum, fall victim to ill-timed street crossings in my entire life, and I’ve had very, very many cats (read an old Mosaic Minds<\/em> article<\/a> I wrote about the subject back when my writing was still witty and inspired). I don’t know if we’re having a run of particularly bad cat luck, or if I was just especially lucky before, but right now I’m seriously considering keeping all future cats indoors.
