I got up late this morning and when I came out into the kitchen, Lydia was just coming in from the living room with a pair of scissors in one hand, a hank of hair in the other, and very short, very uneven bangs zig-zagging across her forehead. Why, oh why, does she do that? I tried to fix it up, but I didn’t have all that much left to work with, and now she’s upset and vowing not to go to school until it grows out. <\/p>\n
We got the new stove up and running yesterday (Olof’s dad came and changed the outlet for us), and so far I’ve cooked two things: quesadillas on the stovetop and frozen french fries in the oven. Not very inspired so far, I’m afraid. If I get a chance this evening, I’d like to bake some bread or something. Oooh, maybe some pumpkin bread, since I still have a fair amount of mashed pumpkin in the freezer. It’s amazing how much the new stove and dishwasher have changed the look of the kitchen for the better.
